The Sounds Of Blackness
This is my latest painting; this is tinged with heart felt pain as this was a period when I consciously never picked up a paint brush. As I just been diagnosed with a blood clot on my lung and told I could have died and then told I have to inject myself on a daily basis for the rest of your life … not the kind of news to inspire you to paint! but from a negativity I somehow found an outlet to divert my brain from my medical situation and invest into this painting. The name of this painting is called is …”The Sounds Of Blackness”, the meaning behind it is IF Black was a sound this what it would look like, this what I interpret it. This is of a Maasai Warrior, who are a proud race and strong and feared. I hope I have done them proud. I have used Acrylic, resin and inlaid with Sadowski Crystals as well as using gold leaf. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger…..
It will be available to purchase at my website www.singaart.co.uk , were you can view other of my other works, I ship worldwide using my partner Flight Logistics.
The Maasai inhabit the African Great Lakes region and arrived via the South Sudan. Most Nilotic speakers in the area, including the Maasai, the Turkana and the Kalenjin, are pastoralists, and are famous for their fearsome reputations as warriors and cattle-rustlers. The Maasai and other groups in East Africa have adopted customs and practices from neighbouring Cushitic-speaking groups, including the age set system of social organization, circumcision, and vocabulary terms.
Artwork is captured from high resolution scans or photographs, and is then proofed and printed digitally using precise printers, archival-quality inks and acid-free art and photo papers. Giclée prints are quickly being recognized by the world’s leading galleries and museums as the finest reproductions available to date.
Our 12-colour Canon giclée printer produces incredibly detailed prints for both the fine art and photographic markets. Giclée prints render deep, saturated colors and have an exceptional quality that retains minute detail, subtle tints and blends. The term giclée is meant to be applied only to archival digital prints made with fine art paper or canvas.
All my prints are printed on Klein Imaging Smooth Rag is the one paper I use. It is particularly suited to fine art and illustration printing, but also lends rich colour and fine details to fine art photography. The matt finish 300gsm paper is the ideal medium for colourful and vibrant images, with a smooth texture that doesn’t detract from the final image – it’s more than capable of carrying across the nuances of fine greys and subtle hints of colour too.
