The Sounds Of Blackness
This is my latest painting; this is tinged with heart felt pain as this was a period when I consciously never picked up a paint brush. As I just been diagnosed with a blood clot on my lung and told I could have died and then told I have to inject myself on a daily basis for the rest of your life … not the kind of news to inspire you to paint! but from a negativity I somehow found an outlet to divert my brain from my medical situation and invest into this painting. The name of this painting is called is …”The Sounds Of Blackness”, the meaning behind it is IF Black was a sound this what it would look like, this what I interpret it. This is of a Maasai Warrior, who are a proud race and strong and feared. I hope I have done them proud. I have used Acrylic, resin and inlaid with Swafowski Crystals as well as using gold leaf. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger…..
It will be available to purchase at my website www.singaart.co.uk , were you can view other of my other works, I ship worldwide using my partner Flight Logistics.
The Maasai inhabit the African Great Lakes region and arrived via the South Sudan. Most Nilotic speakers in the area, including the Maasai, the Turkana and the Kalenjin, are pastoralists, and are famous for their fearsome reputations as warriors and cattle-rustlers. The Maasai and other groups in East Africa have adopted customs and practices from neighboring Cushitic-speaking groups, including the age set system of social organization, circumcision, and vocabulary terms.
